Obelisk installed at Nansledan, the new urban extension to Newquay

Last week, an obelisk was installed at Nansledan, the new urban extension to Newquay, with bronze panel by sculptor and carver, Charles Gurrey.

The inscription reads: This inscription marks the first visit of HRH The Duke of Cornwall to Nansledan on the 16th July 2014 the year the first house was built

Hugh Petter, ADAM Architecture director and co-ordinating architect for the site commented, “It is a real pleasure to see this significant monument, the embodiment of fine craftsmanship and beautiful Cornish granite, now erected at this key gateway to Nansledan, Newquay.”

Nansledan will be an exemplary, mixed use, sustainable extension that is distinctively Cornish in character. Read more about Nansledan here or visit the website www.nansledan.com
