New housing at Wickhambreaux, Kent

A proposed development on vacant land in the historic village of Wickhambreaux near Canterbury has been designed to specifically address the sensitivities of the area. The development and architectural style of the individual buildings have been designed to give the appearance of an existing historic farmstead. The largest house is designed to mimic what could have been the farm's main manor house and is flanked by a slightly smaller property, suggesting a farm manager's residence. A number of smaller dwellings have the appearance of farm workers accommodation, surrounded by converted barns and outbuildings and a converted entrance lodge. The result is a layout and form of buildings that fuses comfortably within the village.
