Regency villa apartments in Surrey
A distinctive classical building in Surrey, containing ten high-specification apartments, takes inspiration from the Regency houses of Sir John Soane and John Nash. The double height porticos, Greek Ionic columns and shallow pitched roofs all follow local precedents and there is a similarity in quality, mass and scale to the surrounding buildings. The building is divided into six pavilions with private balconies, ensuring that the structure retains a very human scale. Local materials such as buff brick are used, alongside stone for dressings and columns and timber sash windows with traditional Georgian panes. The villa provides valuable sustainable housing near the town centre.
