New clubhouse at Stocks Golf Club, Hertforshire

This new golf club building sits at the heart of a beautiful and established course created on rolling chalk down-land on the edge of the Chilterns. The character of the building, integrating vernacular building form with elegant classical detail echoes the early work of the distinguished Edwardian architect Sir Edwin Lutyens whose wife’s family lived relatively close to this site. The club room, at the centre of the H-shaped plan, has a traditional oak frame and forms the heart of this building, with the adjoining dining room in one of the wings offering spectacular views out over the course through large windows.
