Plans approved for 120 new homes in Long Hanborough, West Oxfordshire
Planning permission has been granted for up to 120 homes by ADAM Architecture in Long Hanborough, West Oxfordshire, following an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate at the end of 2016.
CEG and their team of consultants have created a strong vision for this highly sustainable site adjacent to Hanborough railway station that draws upon the distinctive urban and architectural character and heritage of this Oxfordshire settlement.
Hugh Petter, director at ADAM Architecture and architect for the scheme commented, “We are delighted to be working with CEG on this important project. They share our conviction that good design, rooted in traditional regional character, and with tightly controlled delivery, results in better long term value for everyone, and creates better new places for people to live.”
Inspector, David Prentis who overturned the planning refusal by West Oxfordshire District Council concluded "that the adverse impacts would not be sufficient to significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of the appeal scheme. The proposals would therefore amount to sustainable development as defined in the Framework."
Aside from providing up to 120 new homes, 50% of which will be affordable, the site includes space for a 400 space station car park, a new station building, retail space, and taxi and bus drop off facilities.
