New Country House
Wiltshire

A house that replaces a twentieth century dwelling in grounds with panoramic views of the Berkshire Downs. The design is arranged on a butterfly plan, with four wings radiating from a central core. This provides triple aspects over the gardens and wider countryside and a concealed service courtyard behind an encircling garden wall. The house is in the Regency style, with rendered walls and natural stone dressings under a shallow pitched slate roof and bracketed timber eaves. Within the improved grounds is a rustic Tuscan barn and a pool building, carefully renovated to follow the style of the main house. A pair of pavilions frame the pedimented entrance front at the end of an existing tree lined drive.
