New Manor House
Hampshire

On a beautiful site next to the church in a small Hampshire village, this new house is designed in the tradition of local manor houses. The main part of the house has a square plan and is built in a soft red brick, with a painted timber cornice and a tile roof. A particular refinement of the design is the slightly narrower width of the first floor windows compared to the ground floor, and the architectural detail concentrated on doorcases in the centre of the east and south fronts. To the north is an attached wing in the form of a simple barn containing service rooms and garages.
