A new Palladian Villa on the outskirts of Belfast in the Upper Malone area. The neighbourhood is one of substantial private houses, many of which have been subject to residential development in recent years. The existing house was in poor condition and did not reflect the spaciousness of the grounds. The new owners commissioned Nigel Anderson to design a Palladian Villa in stone to replace it. The design was very substantial for the area and was the subject of very close consultation with the Belfast Planning Office, which resulted in planning permission being obtained without any changes. It is believed to be the largest new house in Northern Ireland to obtain planning permission in a significant number of years.
