A replacement house set within mature grounds in Wiltshire. The site was previously occupied by an unsightly 1960s bungalow that was unsympathetic to the character of the village and surrounding older properties. The new house is a compact building with a cruciform plan, relating to the framework of the existing gardens. The plan form allows natural light into the main rooms from more than one aspect. Following local tradition, the building is faced with bands of dressed stone and locally sourced flint, with stone framed oak casement windows and a central, octagonal entrance. It is also highly sustainable due to its solid construction.
