The brief for this villa was to create a comfortable modern family home. It is designed on a rigorous geometric grid with all openings carefully positioned to provide controlled views around the house and out into the adjoining gardens. The resulting proportions create simple elegant rooms that are embellished with very restrained classical detail, creating a light, modern and airy interior where both antiques and more contemporary furniture and fittings are equally at home. The careful integration of contemporary lighting solutions creates a light, fresh feel which has attracted several design awards and has inspired many other clients since this house was first published.
