A new family home constructed on the site of an unsightly and redundant modern farmyard that detracted from the surrounding landscape setting. The new building is a central two-storey house with a steeply pitched natural slate roof and single storey pavilions to either side. Walls are lime rendered with small paned timber sash windows. Three traditional brick and flint barns have been restored with the addition of a new, wooden stable range and service yard. The new house was featured in the Sunday Telegraph, in an article highlighting the comment of the local Council, that this was ‘a very beautiful house’ that ‘deserved to be built.’
