A development of 21 new apartments on Watling Street occupies an important position at the gateway into the town of Radlett, Hertfordshire. The design spans the varying architectural types within the area, mirroring established building traditions and local features, to bring cohesion to the streetscape. The elevation is broken down into town house bays and references to the local architectural character are made by the use of bay windows, simple timber details and special brickwork features. The development is organised to focus upon the previously neglected bridge spanning the river, and features a series of enclosed gardens that lead to a feature pavilion and pergola.
