A luxury apartment building occupying a prominent waterfront site, known as Westwater. The design is inspired by Art Deco buildings and also by the simple elegance of ‘Swedish Grace’ architecture. This approach resonates with buildings found in St Helier and in other maritime locations. The elevations are granite and limestone, with a rusticated base at ground floor level, and windows and balconies on the upper floors are finished in bronze. The entrances in the centre of the East and West elevations are marked by a single red polished granite Doric column. On the eastern façade, large, limestone framed windows fill the central bay and demarcate the large, central hallway that spans the entire width of the building from east to west. A tapering, central stone pilaster is crowned by a guilded bronze anthemion, ensuring that the building is distinctive in longer views of the waterfront.
