Hal is an urban designer with a specialism in climate responsive design. He has worked as a sustainability consultant at the Carbon Trust, supporting large scale housebuilders and construction companies in the UK, before retraining as an urban designer at the Bartlett, UCL. Hal joined ADAM in 2021 and holds a dual role within the practice – as Urban Designer as well as Deputy Sustainability Lead. As an Urban Designer, Hal leverages his holistic understanding of sustainability when supporting the development of concept plans, analysing site constraints and opportunities, drawing unit types, and formulating design codes for large-scale housing developments across the UK. He also works within our sustainability team tasked with reducing the impact of the organisation and its projects. Project support includes the provision of strategic advice at the concept design stage, technical advice, writing of energy and sustainability statements, and undertaking building performance studies.
