Dr Martina Pacifici
Associate, Sustainability Lead
Martina is a building performance engineer experienced in building and urban dynamic energy modelling, sustainability consultancy and data-driven environmental design. Martina joined ADAM in September 2022 as Sustainability Lead to develop and head up our in-house sustainability team. Her aim is to lead the practice to deliver the most sustainable traditional architecture and urban design.
Martina studied Architectural Engineering at “Sapienza” University of Rome (IT) and earned her Doctorate degree at “USP” University of São Paulo (BR) in Civil and Urban Construction Engineering. Martina’s doctoral thesis was focussed on the study of the energy and environmental performance of the built environment, from the building to the urban scale. Her research addressed the study of the interdependencies between urban morphology, building energy performance and urban climate. Martina’s works have been presented in many international conferences in Europe and South America. After her PhD she worked as Building Performance Engineer at AHMM for almost three years, supporting architectural and urban projects with a wide range of building performance analyses including energy modelling studies and LCA assessments to improve buildings’ energy performance and mitigate their carbon footprint.
Martina is BREEAM Advisory Professional certified and reviewer for science journals including Sustainable Cities and Society.
