UK Property Award win for a new manor house in Hampshire

September 28, 2022

A new manor house in Hampshire designed by George Saumarez Smith has been recognised with a UK Property Awards 2023 in the category Architecture Single Residence (Hampshire). The awards were presented at a dinner event on 28th October 2022 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel London.

This new house is designed in the tradition of local manor houses. The main part of the house has a square plan and is built in a soft red brick, with a painted timber cornice and a tile roof. A particular refinement of the design is the slightly narrower width of the first floor windows compared to the ground floor, and the architectural detail concentrated on doorcases in the centre of the east and south fronts.
