Planning approval for a new farmhouse in Hampshire

A new brick and flint Hampshire farmhouse has received planning approval. The scheme will include the restoration of some of the surrounding barns. The history of the site, which is currently in a poor condition, will inform the design. The proposed new design of the replacement farmhouse and outbuildings designed by ADAM partner Robbie Kerr, will make a positive contribution to the built environment and surrounding landscape of the local area. The new home will be fit for contemporary family living and will make the most of the site.

The replacement house is in the style of a traditional Hampshire farmhouse with a pared back design free of unnecessary elaborate decorative detail. The external form of the building is defined by brick and flint walls with a natural clay tile roof. These natural materials, with low embodied energy, are seen widely on farmhouses throughout Hampshire. Locally sourced materials will be used throughout where possible.
