Robert Cox first joined ADAM Architecture in 2010, quickly gaining a reputation for his extraordinary talent for traditional draughtsmanship. He became a design partner in 2024.
During his studies, Robert received a First at Portsmouth and a Distinction at University College London, before later qualifying as an architect in 2015. It was during his tenure as an undergraduate that he met Hugh Petter, who invited him to apply for an architectural assistant role at ADAM Architecture.
In the 15 years since, Robert has used drawing as a fundamental tool in his design work and has been recognised nationally and internationally for his large-scale hand-drawn presentation drawings.
His work is varied in scale, from large new country houses to the restoration and conservation of historic and modern estates. He specialises in the design of large and complex residential projects for private clients, embedding the contemporary technology required for modern life into either historic fabric or authentically classical new buildings. He is particularly interested in the vernacular of Georgian farmhouses, and the light detailing that distinguishes them.
Robert is a brother of the Art Workers Guild, treasurer of TAG at the RIBA, a member of INTBAU, Young Professionals Group, and a member of the Academy of Urbanism, Young Urbanist. He has been shortlisted for several awards from the RIBA, the International Georgian Group and the World Architecture Festival.
