Plans approved for the restoration of Grade II*-listed Gasholder No.2 at King’s Road Park

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has approved plans to restore and repurpose the Grade II*-listed Gasholder No.2 at King’s Road Park. This significant heritage structure will be restored in time for its 200th anniversary and will create a new public landmark for London.

The gasholder forms part of the former Fulham gasworks, developed in the early 19th century. This project sits within a wider residential scheme by Berkeley Group. The approved plans allow for the careful dismantling, refurbishment and re-erection of the historic structure, preserving key architectural elements while integrating them into a thoughtfully designed public space. New landscaping, seating and interpretative water displays will create a calm and welcoming environment for the community at King’s Road Park.
