Refurbishment of a 17th century coach house

Our detailed historical research identified this 17th century property’s original use as a coach house, and later as a storage space for the adjacent Fullers Brewery prior to its conversion for residential use. The research ensured the proposals provided an authentic approach to the refurbishment of the property.

Internal spaces were reconfigured in line with the underlying architecture, making external alterations using materials that matched the original palette, and removing modern, inappropriate interventions. Good conservation practices were accompanied by improved energy efficiency through increased insulation, slim double glazing and breathable construction.
