New Palladian Villa, Wiltshire

This new house built in natural stone and lime render with a slate roof, and a single-storey service wing in red brick, is designed in the spirit of the great Palladian farmhouse villas of the Veneto. The entrance front is understated, reflecting the character of the surrounding historic hamlet. The three central bays are recessed with arched openings creating an enclosed entrance portico or loggia. In contrast, the garden front has a central portico in a Doric order.

The house demonstrates best practice in energy conservation, traditional craftsmanship and the use of sustainable, locally sourced materials.
